TGMC:Drone
The Drone
Drone Drone |
The Drone's most important duties are weeding the colonies for higher tiers to have access to swifter movement and regeneration, planting eggs that the Queen lays, and creating the structure of the resin hive until a Hivelord is available. As with all other Tier 1 Xenomorphs, your primary focus should be on expanding the hive and staying alive. |

Drone General Information
The Drone is one of the most vital components of any hive. The drone may not have great combat abilities, however the Drone finds its vocation in assembling and keeping up with the structure of the Hive and its weeds. Relatively fast, the Drone can also build on the move. It is equipped with weak corrosive acid that can melt through any non-reinforced structure. Its attacks are fairly weak, and it is not intended for combat unless cornered, or protecting the queen. It has a medium to low health pool, which gives it some ability to stay alive under fire.
The drone is responsible for setting up forward hives(When able), creating a nesting area to store hosts, and ensuring that higher castes have reasonable access to weeded areas. They are primarily responsible at the start of any hive to begin terraforming of any given colony Via weed planting and defense building, as such, the Drone has a much larger plasma reserve than other tier 1 xenomorphs, and a decent rate of plasma regeneration.
Proper usage of Pheromones is important for any drone on the front lines. They are a hearty compliment to an ambush group, giving them the ability to move faster, strike harder, withstand more damage, or recover from wounds faster, and the ability to quickly create nesting areas on the fly, as they weed the surface of the colony.
Playing as a Drone
The primary objective of the Drone as with most other Tier 1 caste Xenos is first, to stay alive. Their next most important duty is expanding the hive, whether by weeding new areas or building new defenses. When building, keep in mind that xenomorphs have a strong advantage against marines in tight winding corridors, and offset patterns. When weeding, keep in mind that you cannot plant weeds on rock, grass, or catwalks. Don't hesitate to set up forward hives and nesting areas close to combat, and bring eggs from the queen's hatchery to assist in quick infection of marines. Remember, you cannot take a lot of damage, so guerilla hit and run tactics are your best bet if forced into combat.
