A Short Story
Somewhere, you fucked up.
You spent years studying medicine. You practiced your surgical technique until your fingers were numb. You thought that a stint in the armed forces would be beneficial to your career.
Somewhere, you fucked up.
You did your time in training. You sought out leadership positions. You taught everyone below you as much as you could. You excelled.
Somewhere, you fucked up.
You saw that there was a posting on a ship the chief medical officer position. You sought out recommendations. You got picked out of a hundred candidates.
Somewhere, you fucked up.
Now you are stuck in the ass end of nowhere, on an understaffed ship, taking care of a bunch of hooligans, with no potential for advancement.
