Under rewriting!

The entirety of SOP is currently being rewritten as a initiative from the Manuel server. Please don't temper with anything in there for the time of rewriting.

The Standard Operating Procedures is a Nanotrasen-approved set of regulations on the station's operation, failure to comply with them might lead to a citation, arrest, or even demotion. As such SOP is to be followed at any time as the first course of actions SOP can be altered by the station Captain if they this it's appropriate for the current situation, as every situation is different and SOP wouldn't apply properly or harm the station.

As such this is the second most important document after the Space Law on a Nanotrasen station, as it tells the tasks every department or role carries, what right privileges it holds as well as instructing emergencies that will happen on the station. Remember that after getting your job position in the Nanotrasen corporation you agree on both SOP and Space Law! We are not responsible for any injuries you might get.

Department Operations

See also: Chain of Command

This section will tell every department task, right, and privilege it holds. Departments should run based on those regulations but be notified that the heads of them can alter them if it fits the situation station is facing. But it always must be known that the final word on everything is Captains.

Command Department

The command department is tasked with running everything on the station. The command department is taken by the department heads and Captain. Heads have their respective departments they need to run and oversee, while the Captain is acting as "head of heads" overseeing the departmental heads and making sure they don't slack off.

Department Heads

There are currently 6 department heads that can be assigned to the station, there is a list of them: Head of Personnel (HOP), Head of Security (HOS), Chief Engineer (CE), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Research Director (RD), Quartermaster (QM). All of them have the same objectives in their mind, a CORPEN:

  • Coordinating Staff - You are the one coordinating staff in departments. HOS needs to notify Security Officers of reported criminal activity, CMO to send Paramedics to retrieve dead bodies, CE order to fix the aftermaths of a gruesome bomb explosion, etc.
  • Overseeing Departments - You need to make sure that their department is running smoothly and without any problems. They cannot allow people to slack off, commit crimes, disobey orders or be an active Enemy of the Corporation.
  • Responding to Emergencies - You are the one who needs to handle emergencies using your department resources, depending on the emergency you will have to provide needed equipment (Science/Cargo) Structural Repair (Engineering) Threat Containment (Security), Medical Aid (Medical).
  • Protecting Nanotrasen interests - You are the most loyal members of the crew to the Nanotrasen, it's in your interests to protect the Nanotrasen interests of plasma research and expansion. Although it should be noted that some heads might be traitors to the corporate, as such always have caution towards your superiors and co-heads.
  • Elevating Staff Morale - You must keep your department staff happy, as an unhappy staff is unproductive and is prone to insubordination and riots. Always listen to what they say and keep good relations with them, do not abuse or threaten them. But always know the boundaries of what they can have.
  • Nurturing Staff through Training - You must train the staff who are not fully professional in their job as most of Nanotrasen is staffed with interns. Make sure they understand what they should do and how, by doing so you avoid possible accidents and improve relations with your department.

As department head, you can perform certain actions normal crew members can't, as those are essential for your job.

Captain

After the department heads there is the Captain, the one overseeing those who oversee others. As Captain, your objectives are similar to the department head one's, but they do differ. As Captain, you follow a SHIELD:

  • Staying vigilant - Your station is a
  • Heeding the Chain of Command -
  • Interacting with the crew -
  • Exercising Authority -
  • Listening to concerns and reports -
  • Delegating tasks -

Alert Levels

Code Green - All Clear

Standard operating level. No immediate or clear threat to the station. All departments may carry out work as normal.

  • Suit sensors are not required to be on.
  • Weapons worn by security are to be hidden except when in the case of an emergency.
  • Crew members may freely walk in the hallways.
  • AI/Cyborgs have no need to bolt down any secure areas.
  • Security must respect the privacy of crew members and no unauthorized searches are allowed.

Code Blue - Confirmed Threat

Elevated alert level. There are reports or other proof available to indicate that there is a threat to the station. The blue alert level is applied when a Centcom threat summary is received and printed at communication consoles (happens automatically every roundstart).

  • Suit sensors are mandatory, but coordinate positions are not required.
  • Security may have weapons visible.
  • Crew members may be searched by security with probable cause.
  • AI/Cyborgs may bolt down high secure areas.
  • Energy guns, laser guns and riot gear are allowed to be given out to security personnel if the HoS or Warden agree.

Code Red - Immediate Threat

Maximum alert level. There is an immediate threat to the station or severe damage. Martial Law is in effect.

  • Suit sensors are to be turned fully on at all times.
  • Security can raid departments and arrest any crew member deemed a threat to the station.
  • All crew members must remain in their departments.
  • AI/Cyborgs may bolt down maintenance and airlocks leading to space.

Code Delta - Imminent Destruction

The station's self destruct mechanism has been engaged due to overwhelming threat to the station. Martial Law is in effect.

  • Suit sensors are to be turned fully on at all times.
  • All orders from Heads of Staff and Security must be followed, any disobedience is punishable by death.
  • All crew members are to evacuate immediately, if possible.

Different Situations

Evacuation

  • All personnel are to evacuate on the escape pods or the emergency shuttle, which Central Command sends.
  • All personnel are required to assist with evacuation. All crew must be evacuated, regardless of their consciousness.
  • Prisoners are to be brought to the secure area of the escape shuttle, except for prisoners who pose a severe threat.
  • AI units may be brought to Central Command on portable card devices (InteliCards) if structural failure is likely or AI units wish to leave.
  • Mechs and Cyborg units are to be hauled to the escape shuttle for Central Command to inspect.
  • Authorizing early shuttle launches is not allowed unless there is an immediate threat to shuttle integrity.

Fire and Other Environmental Hazards

  • Immediate evacuation of all untrained personnel.
  • Fire alarms to be used to control the hazard.
  • Atmospheric Technicians and Station Engineers are to remove the hazard.
  • Pump air back into the area when fixed.
  • Ensure the damage is repaired.

Файл:L2locker.png Radiation Storm

  • All crew to move to the maintenance tunnels.
  • Wait a while until it's safe to move again, and continue your business. Report to Medbay if you're feeling strange.
  • Medbay staff should be ready to administer mutadone to the ones who got caught in the storm.

Файл:L3locker.png Viral Outbreak

  • If severe viral strain is on board the station, the Chief Medical Officer is required to quarantine infected parts of the station with the help of security.
  • All infected crew are to be isolated in Virology or Medbay.
  • Sterile masks/Internals and gloves are mandatory for medical personnel and recommended for crew.
  • Quarantine must be maintained until the outbreak is contained and resolved.
  • If the Emergency Shuttle is called, medical and security are to ensure no infected crew board the shuttle.

Meteor Storm

  • All crew to move to central parts of the station.
  • Damage is to be repaired by engineering personnel after the threat has passed.
  • Shuttle must be called if the station becomes unsalvageable.

Extraterrestrial Takeover

  • Station Command is to prevent infection from spreading to Central Command by ensuring the emergency shuttle is not called until the threat is contained or terminated.
  • Destroy all extraterrestrial sources on the station.
  • Round up all forms of extraterrestrial lifeforms and contain or terminate them, do not terminate if there is a chance of containment.
  • If extraterrestrial forces cannot be defeated, arm and detonate the Nuclear Fission Explosive to ensure their suppression.
