The Runner

Runner rundown

The Runner is the fastest xeno in the hive, however it pays for that by being one of weakest xenos health wise. Quick, and with a high ability to dodge, the runner excels at close quarters combat, and hit and run tactics.

Playing the Runner

If you're playing as a runner and not planning on evolving, there are some things you should focus on and keep in mind. Always beware of barricade traps, which are plasteel barricades that marines will lower to bait you into an area, then raise as soon as you enter, to keep you from being able to escape.

Runner tips & tricks

  • You should try to constantly moving between the marine, to either cause FF, or at the very least preventing them from getting easy shots off on you.
  • Your pounce has a 5 sec cd, which is enough for a stunlock with wield delay and stun duration.

Runner evolutions & upgrades

The Runner upgrades to a Hunter or Bull. The Tier 3 upgrade of this class is the Ravager. Age upgrades increase health, damage and speed.

Rest
This ability is used to rest and get up. You can only heal when resting on weeds, and will also regenerate plasma faster. Easy N/A

Regurgitate
Regurgitate does exactly what it sounds like: expels the contents of your stomach onto the current tile. To consume someone, grab them then click on your sprite, and stand still. Easy N/A

Headbite
This ability is used to remove the brain of a downed marine, allowing for a quick execution. Takes 10 seconds to pull off. Braindead 100

Hide
This ability lets you hide underneath other objects on the tile you are on. Useful for sneaking under tables. Intermediate N/A

Pounce
Lets you pounce on any marine within a certain tile radius, temporarily knocking them down and disarming them. Has a 5 second cooldown at young. Intermediate N/A

Savage
This ability adds a damaging attack to your pounce. You must be on harm intent (4/red) and have enough plasma. Savage has it's own separate cooldown and plasma cost from pounce, so make sure it's ready to be used again before striking. Easy N/A

Evasion
Take evasive action, forcing non-friendly projectiles that would hit you to miss so long as you keep moving. Easy 20
